In 2007 a rapper called Souljah Boy released a song called ‘Crank That Souljah Boy’ which was a massive hit, smashing all download, ringtone and Youtube views for that year, and started the crazy ‘crankin’ movement (who remembers Batman and Spiderman? lol).
Most people including myself wrote him off as a gimmick, a joke and a ‘one-hit wonder’ and thought we would never see him in a new music video again. However, while everyone was busy doubting him he was busy trying to become an artist and a credible rapper…and you know what (and I can’t believe I’m saying this); he is actually not that far away now. He released the massive hits ‘Kiss Me Through The Phone’ & ‘Turn My Swag On’ last year which were in regular rotation in clubs across the world. And now we have a another massive banger. Not only is the beat very sick, but he has slightly improved his lyrical content and switches his flow on the last verse. He is going for it for sure! He is still nowhere near the best, let that be known, but I’m impressed. If he keeps this up I might actually become a Souljah Boy fan! loool. Jeez, who would have thought…?
